...Nashville Sightseeing #2...

...this is going to be a long post of a full day of sightseeing in Nashville...

...Mom and I had made a list of things to do in Nashville before we left...with addresses and phone numbers and hours of operation...so that we could fit everything into our few days in Nashville...(my Mom is an excellent list-maker )
...one of the top 3 items on our list was this Johnny Cash Museum...
...so we got in line and got our tickets...this was probably the most crowded thing that we did in Nashville...hugely popular...
...it was funny that they grouped us while we were in line...about 6 (or so) people were let in at a time...and the gatekeeper talked cheerfully to each group before she moved the velvet cord to let them in...asking them where they were from and such...and we thought it was interesting that the group immediately in front of us were all from Minnesota...and our group...North Carolina (obviously)...and Michigan...
...Hello...
...first guitar...
...there was an exhibit like this for each decade...and a slow moving line as each person tried to read everything...very interesting...
...smile...this was actually a 'green' screen that would put Johnny Cash in the photo with you...for a fee of course...but we just took one plain...
...Scout reading...lots of reading...
...and a photo op with Mr. Cash...
...so then we went walkabout...just wandering around downtown on our way to our next venue...

...Scout has about 10 Hard Rock t-shirts...surprised that he's not wearing one here...
...they had a couple of these crazy pedal powered bars roaming the streets...everyone has a set of pedals under their stool...and the driver is talking animatedly the whole time on a loudspeaker...and there's a bartender in the middle...so funny...
...Riverwalk...
...Iconic red metal statue...called the Ghost Ballet was the first project that was funded by the City of Nashville’s public art ordinance in 2007...
...Shelby Street walking bridge...
...I love riverwalks and walking bridges...
...Nashvile skyline...definitely a booming city...lots of construction...
...the old depot...seen from the bridge...
...downriver...
...upriver...
...more skyline...
...more touristy photo ops...on our way to our next venue...
...which was the Walk of Fame...much like the Hollywood Stars...this walkway has a plaque for Music stars...all of the Country Music greats are there...along with Jimi Hendrix and Peter Frampton...so that was surprising...I guess we thought it'd just be Country Music...
...and then the Country Music Hall of Fame...
...always interesting what people carve in stone...
...the Ford Theater and Rotunda...
...inside...there was an impressive wall of gold/platinum albums...
...honor thy music...
...old printing presses for the huge posters...
...lots of clothing exhibits...
...and another Johnny Cash exhibit...and we learned stuff we didn't see at his namesake museum...wonder if there was a collaboration...
...stay tuned...more sightseeing to come...

~Have a lovely day!

  2. Thanks for the tour. It's been a long time since I was in Nashville and we didn't do nearly as much as you. Did see the Ryman and attended the show at the Grand Old Opry. Back then, Opryland was going strong so that's why we went to Nashville. Was a fun time and a good memory. MOM
