...6.28...Over the Weekend...

Happy Monday morning to you!
...over the weekend...I was invited back here...to pick as many berries (black and blue) as I wanted...
...so I donned a hat...and long sleeves...grabbed a bucket and lined it with two plastic grocery bags...and started picking...
...we picked a bucketful of big-fat-juicy-perfectly-ripe blackberries first...and by 'we'...I mean that the gentleman who owns the berries came out and picked with me...so we filled up the bucket doubletime...
...and then we did the same with the blueberries...and what I didn't eat on the spot definitely ended up in the bucket...(I ate a lot)...how often do you get to eat organic berries right off the bush...
...and then...he wouldn't let me leave without another bag of squash...
...and one also of cucumbers...
...WOW...so this is what I came home with...
...a whole grocery bag of blueberries...
...and another one of blackberries...
...which I just washed...or rinsed...as they're organic...they don't need a lot of prep...
...bagged up two gallon bags...and used my high tech - straw in the corner - air extraction vacuum method...haha...and put those in the freezer...we're probably just going to eat all of the blueberries fresh...
...then I did a fairly small grocery store run...not much of interest...but they had the bags of rice 3 for 1$ again...and I told you wrong last time...they're not one pound bags...they're two pound bags...so we're pretty well stocked for regular white rice now...haha...
...let's see...what else did I accomplish this weekend...well...those white crocheted shoes that I crocheted a new back strap for...were in a bad need of a good cleaning...so I mixed up some OxyClean and detergent and scrubbed them well with an old toothbrush...
...I had read somewhere that the absolute worst thing for cheap shoes is to get them wet...and remembering that I only paid $1 for them...several years ago...here they are clean but still wet...
...so I dried them as much as I could and then set them over an AC vent...and they were completely dry by morning...I put them on and wore them around the house for a bit...and they haven't fallen apart yet...so hopefully they've survived being cleaned...
....oh...I forgot to mention that I got the first fresh peaches of the year...just grocery store ones...but still...so I dunked them in some boiling water...
...and peeled them...it always amazes me how easily the skin slips off like this...
...they certainly look nice and juicy and sweet...
...but a couple of bites tells me that they still need a little bit of sweetness...so I sliced them and put them in a bowl and sprinkled a little bit of sugar on top...
...and finally...our Outdoor Sexton came and put up a brand new clothesline...
...and I've already used it...twice...it's so nice...
...and Callie always trips around me while I'm outside...she's such a sweetie...look at that face...

~Wishing you a lovely start to your week!

...we've really been feasting on berries here...and I can't wait for the South Carolina peaches to come in...nothing like a juicy freestone peach...
