...first of all...a few photos from last weekend...
...I guess when I realized that I hadn't taken any photos at the Christmas party...I didn't even look at my memory card...and there were a few photos of things from the weekend that I didn't post...
...I did post about our sort of disaster of a gingerbread 'shed'...but I didn't post the final result of the actual free-standing building...
...and the gorgeous Christmas bouquet the Man sent me...
...each individual flower is stamped...
...so those were on display at the party as well...
...and I had made a batch of pickled red onions for the charcuterie board...
...and these were sweet hostess gifts I received last weekend as well...a super tasty Christmas jam...already all consumed...and a sweet Grinch spatula, candy cane towel and hand soap...Thank you so much!
...so that's it from last weekend...
...we started the weekend early with a really simple breakfast...scrambled tofu and toast...
...and then we did some housework...and I wanted a snack before we did the shopping trip...and the Man said he thought he'd just have a bagel...
...I've only been buying plain bagels to save fridge space as the Man doesn't like everything bagels...and I had bought a jar of 'everything bagel' spice...but it WAY TOOO TOOOO garlic-y...
...so I had gotten a couple of packets of sesame seeds to try to tone it down a bit...
...I just toasted those in a pan...
...and mixed it with the jar...
...and now I've got month's worth of everything spice...
...so I toasted a plain bagel...
...and added some Violife cream cheese and a sprinkling of the Everything spice...it was ok...I think the amount they put on an actual everything bagel is just about the right amount...I'm not sure it will ever be exactly the same with a plain bagel...oh well...
...and then we did the shopping...
...kind of a large shop this week...
...of note...a couple of bags of cookies...animal crackers and fig newtons...accidentally vegan...impossible burger and blackeyed peas for New Years dinner...
...we got all of that put away...my cookie tin is full of vanilla oreos...so I just put the crackers and fig bars into jars...
...and then it was lunch time...but we'd had a snack before shopping so we didn't want a big meal...and I do LOVE a sandwich...
...I made a deli-worthy tofu sammie...and had a bag of Kibos on the side...
...my nephew (and his sweet family) had gifted me a whole box of Kibos when we were at Mom's for Thanksgiving...they're delicious vegan fun to eat...
...and Mom's Christmas present had arrived in the mail...and it included a big bag of bird seed...so we got a neat feeder while we were out shopping...it has different sized opening for different seeds and different bird's preferences...and appears to be (at least somewhat) squirrel proof)...
...so we filled that up and hung it up outside...I'll try to get a photo of the birds eating from it...but they usually fly away the second I get the camera out...even if I don't go outside and try to take a photo through the window...
...and I'll leave you with another one of the gorgeous winter sunsets in our little neighborhood...
~Wishing you a lovely start to your week!
