...Vegan Pizza...on the way home...

...on our way back home we stopped at Mellow Mushroom in Columbia...
...I'd never been to Mellow Mushroom before...but I'd heard good things about this vegan friendly establishment...
...I ordered the...

Mega-Veggie
Red sauce base with feta and mozzarella cheeses replaced with Daiya, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, green peppers, mushrooms, onions, black olives, Roma tomatoes, broccoli, banana peppers, artichoke hearts and tofu.
...and all I had to say was 'can you make it vegan?'...

...I love that...no long conversation about ingredients...they just 'know'...no butter and vegan cheese...

...it was delicious...and we all loved the quirky atmosphere...

...there are three MM's within about 50 miles of here...so next time I'm in Charlotte...I'll probably be heading to one...

~Wishing you a lovely start to your week!

  1. It is so nice to find vegan friendly places to eat. I have now been a vegan for about 6 months and find eating at home easy but out can be awkward. I went into a Vegetarian restaurant in Chichester and asked if they served vegan food. The young man smiled and said kindly, no, we are a vegetarian restaurant. I refrained from laughing until I got outside!

  4. I've heard good things about MM, too. A friend brought me back a cool magnet once, but I've yet to enjoy in first hand. I did get a couple nice vegan pizzas this week when I was traveling for work. Hooray! I was so excited, in fact, I went twice in three days. Hooray for vegan (friendly) pizza joints!
