...W.I.P. Wednesday...2017 Prom Shawl F.O. ...

...the Prom Shawl is finished...just in time...Prom 2017 is just a little over a week away...
...I did go back and get the next larger size beads...but you can barely see them...
...that's ok though...they still 'function' well...giving this slinky shiny shawl some weight and drape...

...and now I'm going to go ahead and show you my genius FAIL for this week...

...I thought I might wait until I used this for an application that actually worked...but I still think it's a good idea...it's just that my larger beads were still too small for this trick to work...

...I was thinking of some way to thread the beads onto the yarn without having to force a needle through the bead with doubled yarn...which is going to be pretty large to go through the little hole in a glass bead...

...so I was sort of brainstorming a way to make the yarn stiff enough to go through the hole on it's own...
...and I came up with super glue as a stiffener...
...so I got out some plastic wrap and squirted some super glue onto the yarn...
...and then squeezed it into the yarn well by mashing it around a bit with the plastic...you don't want to get your fingers in the super glue...
...and then I hung the super glued yarn off the counter so that it would dry straight...I didn't want it to stick to the plastic...I just threw that away...
...and that part worked the yarn is definitely stiff enough to go through a bead...it's just that my beads are too small for this yarn...

...so there you have it...a success (F.O.) and a fail...

~Have a lovely day!
