...Dinner and a Movie...

...first of all...I gathered everything to make a Vegan Bundt Cake...and prepared my pretty bundt pan...I call it my new bundt pan...but I've had it since 2010...
...then basically I followed the Betty Crocker Bundt Cake recipe subbing flax seed for the eggs...and adding pudding and oil to the mix...
....and the best thing about vegan cake batter is you can lick the bowl...
...poured that into the bundt pan and baked it for about an hour...
...the kiddos shopped for and prepared dinner...the watched a video on how to properly chop an onion...
...and did a really good job chopping it in about 30 seconds...
...then they prepped some cilantro, lettuce and tomatoes...so now you know where this dinner is going...
...vegan tacos with refried beans and rice...
...it was delicious...
...and then cake for dessert...

...and we let the kiddos choose the movie...and we watched Disney's version of A Christmas Carol...and y'all already know that A Christmas Carol is my all time favorite Christmas movie...and ranks right up there with my favorite movie of all time...

...what have you been watching this Christmas season?...

~Have a lovely weekend!

  1. ha! Cute that they watched a video to learn how to chop an onion! We haven't watched any Christmas videos - the TV hasn't been on since we left Oriental in November! But if I did, I'd watch the Charlie Brown Christmas show.....or maybe the Grinch....love, K

  2. It was good of the kiddos to prepare such a healthy looking meal. I chuckled that a video must be watch to learn to chop the onions, he he. At least they are learning new skills. The bundt cake has a lovely pattern. I don't own a bundt pan but I bought one for Christmas, amongst other gifts, for my nephew's girlfriend who loves to cook and bake.

  3. Is that the one with Michael Caine as Scrooge? I really like that and my friend Beryl watches it when she wraps gifts or does cards - so far this year she has watched it three times! A fan.

    1. Hi Maureen,
...the Disney one is animated...so it's kind of hard to tell...but Scrooge is Jim Carrey...Michael Caine is in the Muppet one though...they're all good...I love Scrooge...so hopeful for humankind...

  4. We've been working our way through the Christmas episodes of The Simpsons, since we're not really movie watchers. I do have tremendously pleasant memories of watching the Disney A Christmas Carol in my youth though.

That is a beautiful cake. We call things the "new" whatever even when they're clearly not new anymore. Must be a relative term. ;)
