...W.I.P. Wednesday...

...there was a little bit of progress on the Holiday Candy Socks...but not a lot...you can see the princess sole with the bumpy side of the stockinette to the outside and the smooth side to the inside against the foot...so comfy...
...and the reason not a lot of progress on the socks...I've started a wedding shawl for myself...navy blue...
...I looked at several patterns online for wedding shawls...and the dimensions are roughly 24" X 72"...so a pretty long rectangle...
...I'm using part of the pattern from the Yes, Yes shawl...but keeping it flat and rectangular instead of triangular...it's tricky...

...and I'm adding a bead in each dip on the last row of the repeat...and I'll add a beaded picot border around the finished shawl as well...

...what's in your workbasket?

~Have a lovely day!

  4. That is going to be beautiful! What date is the wedding - have I missed that? It doesn't seem five minutes since Scout started high school. Have you got your outfit yet? So exciting and so much to plan.

    1. Hi Maureen,
...I'm so late replying that I'm sure you know the date...it was perfect...and you're right about Scout...the time flew by...still trying to find a photo of me in the dress...when we get the video I can 'steal' one from it...I'm sure...

  5. The shawl will be stunning when completed, you will develop much patience as you work :)
I love home knitted socks, I have made myself a few pairs over the years, they are super comfy cozy on a cold day. Mine always run a little big, and I have such a struggle getting the first few rows going when knitting on multiple double pointed needles.

Maybe I need a sock project LOL

    1. Hi Bean,
...I do love knitting socks...but when I first started I found the four needles to be a bit fiddly too...just slipping this over my ankle it seems like it's going to be a little bit big too...but it's cotton...so maybe washing and drying will shrink it just a little bit...
