...I had bought a head of Iceberg Lettuce...something I rarely do anymore...which is kinda funny because salad when I was growing up was almost always made with Iceberg Lettuce...unless it was lettuce from Mom's garden...
...my plan was to make fancy 'wedge' salads for dinner...and I was going to make some Vegan Blue Cheese dressing...
...but while I was making the flat breads...
...I had a change of heart...
...and decided to go with Greek salads instead...
...I still made the wedges though...sprinkled over some simple tofu ricotta and red onions and black olives...and poured over a greek vinaigrette...
...so delicious...
...and the movie choice was mine...and I chose Eat Drink Man Woman...
...it's kind of an older movie...(1994)...about a Man with 3 daughters...so it's a movie about some people...with subtitles...go figure...it was good...
...what have you been watching?...
~Have a lovely day!

Your salad looks very good, minus the olives, of course. MOM
ReplyDeleteI have watched two films by Yasujirō Ozu. Tokyo Story and Late Spring, both wonderful, gentle stories. I think Tokyo Story is my favourite. On Youtube with English subtitles.
ReplyDeleteWe're completely unplugged since the end of January! We turned our satellite dish off since it doesn't work here, and we're not anywhere near Nassau which has, I think, the only Bahamas tv station. We listen to Sirius satellite radio , read and play words with friends, haha. Salads look great! I haven't bought lettuce here, no no salads.😔 Lettuce doesn't keep well in my chest fridge for some reason. I've been using cabbage as a substitute.
ReplyDeleteLove, K
hello teresa!
ReplyDeletehave you seen The Secret Life of Walter Mitty? it is a quirky, fun movie that our whole family loved. or, since you love subtitles ;) A Man Called Ove? (I recommend reading A Man Called Ove before watching - you'll know where the story is going and not have to rely quite so much on the subtitles. I loved both the book and the movie.
This is such a fantastic habit/tradition you have with your husband, Teresa. Even if the movies have subtitles that time together must be priceless.
ReplyDeleteI've always been a vegetarian/vegan that doesn't eat salad. One of my goals of recent was to change that. I quite enjoy a spinach salad these days, but iceberg....nah, I still just can't do it. Maybe someday. ;)
