...the Man mixed up a rub of sorts for Cuban potatoes...and it was pretty wonderful...
...I made a pot of fonio...we'd had it before in stuffed peppers...and so the remnants that bag was still in the cupboard...and it's a good time to use it up...
...so in my bowl...I've got black beans...fonio...broccoli (of course...two bags down...two to go...haha)...and Cuban potatoes...
...we worked the crossword together before we started the movie...
...and the movie was Netflix's Watership Down...it's actually 4 episodes so we've not finished it yet...
...Watership Down ranks right up there with Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings... which I read when I was in Jr. High...I loved the rabbit language especially...and it holds the special place that all those books we read as early adolescents have...when we first start thinking deep thoughts and realizing the universal relationship of things in this world...and I think works of fantasy like these help us to see and evaluate our world better...
...I sort of found the cgi rabbits a bit weird at first...but I got over it once the story got rolling...
...what have you been watching lately?...

Your food bowl looks yummy! I hadn't thought of Watership Down in years. I'll have to read it again - I have it on my Kindle. And I'll have to get Robert to download the series for me.

Hey K,
Delete...I loved the series...my favorite word hrududu...(car)...I had re-read the book when Scout was in middle school and had to read it...so it's been a while since I last read it...it's worth a re-read though...
Love,

Your dinner looks tasty.I bought the book Watership Down some time back and I just couldn't get into it. Perhaps I shall try again as I do love all the Lord of the Rings books and movies. I saw a fabulous movie which I would recommend. It is called The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind. You can find it on Netflix.
ReplyDeleteHi Penny,
DeleteI saw The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind and thought it was really good too...I really enjoyed the Watership Down on Netflix...the old one is pretty gruesome and I wouldn't recommend it...
