I need another craft like I need...
I am fascinated with Hardanger 'though - this is the altar cloth from Church - lovingly stitched by some of the ladies when the Church was first founded - there's a set for each season in green, purple, and blue - but there's no red set - we only have 2 red Sunday's a year (Pentecost and Reformation) so maybe they didn't think it was worth all the trouble - so of course I want a red set too...

ReplyDeleteThanks Rachel,
ReplyDeleteI actually knew what Hardanger was before we moved up here - I had an old knitting book that had some examples of Hardanger - I've never tried it 'though.

ReplyDeleteHey K,
ReplyDeleteI looked at the blog - I don't know anything about boats - but the knitting was pretty impressive.
Love,

I dabble in the Hardanger from time to time and trust me if I can do it anyone can! It's really not that hard, you just have to be sure on your thread placement or when you cut the threads it can unravel. One of my projects on hold are some curtains for the dining room. I have a gigunda piece of linen but I think I want to tea stain it first, I don't think white curtains will hold up so well with the cats always moving them to look out the window.
