...Tomatoes and Okra...

...over the weekend we received a couple of bags of perfect fresh crisp okra...so of course I made a big pan of fried okra...
...and then got the leftovers ready for the freezer...
...just cut off the tips...and slice...
...and spread on a cookie sheet for the freezer...
...Mom had brought us some tomatoes last weekend...but they were long gone...so we were happy to fill our kitchen windowsill with more...

...as the days shorten and cool off...I'm sad to see all the fresh garden produce come to an end... is your garden winding down?

~Wishing you a lovely start to your week!

  1. when we got home from our trip, there were still lots of tomatoes hanging on the vines...i harvested lots and left lots of green ones, hoping they would ripen on the vine. imagine my disgust when i went out yesterday morning to pick a few - they are all gone!!! every singe one, even the little grape tomatoes! the deer have apparently decided that it's harvest time! bummer - had no idea deer would eat green tomatoes!

    love, k
