...when life gives you grapes...

...make grape juice...
...my Mom (in addition to the apples)...brought me a bag of Concord Grapes...

...you could smell their sweetness as soon as you opened the bag...and they're destined to become some really outstanding Grape Jam...if the jar my Sissie made last year from these same grapes is anything to go by...
...first you remove the good ripe grapes from the stems...leaving any shriveled or green ones behind...and put them in a large pot...
...then just go to town mashing the grapes up...
...oh...the smell...I could definitely drink this juice right now...
...cook and mash some more...
...keep the heat low...and cook until most of the grapes have dissolved and you're left with just seeds and skins...
...then pour into a strainer lined with a jelly cloth...
...and drain until you get all the juice out of the pulp...I squeezed mine once it was cool enough to touch...
...isn't the jelly cloth dyed a beautiful colour...
...and here's the beautiful juice...
...just pour it into a canning jar...you can actually can the juice at this point...but I'm just refrigerating mine because it's not going to be that long until I make the jam...

~Have a lovely day!
