...Pizza Night...Movie Night...

...well...the 'movie'...was actually the last two episodes of Indian Summers...it was all a little bit predictable...but I really enjoyed the series...

...and I really wanted Pizza for dinner...we'd not had pizza in quite a while...
...so I made the dough...
...and let it rise...
...and I made a really simple sauce for this Napoli style pizza...whole Italian tomatoes...fresh garlic and a few leaves of fresh oregano...blitzed with the blender stick...
...once the dough had proofed...
...I twirled and stretch the dough into pizza shapes...I don't toss it in the air...tried that...failed...
...and I sprinkled some semolina (a.k.a. Cream of Wheat) onto the bottom of our sheet pan...
...got the oven really hot...500° F...
...drizzled on some olive oil...
...and then swirled on the sauce...
...not too much...just a good covering of sauce...
...a generous sprinkle of Vegan Parmesan...
...remember the vegan cheese I froze last weekend...

...I got that out and crumbled it over the pizza...
...and then sprinkled some fresh basil leaves over the whole thing...
...and slid it off the upside down sheet pan onto the preheated pizza pan already in the oven...we used to have a pizza stone...but I've not seen it since the move...
...baked until bubbly...
...sliced...
...and served...
...a whole pizza for each of us...delicious...and there will be leftovers for lunch tomorrow...

...what have you been watching?...the Man will finally get to choose again next week and he will need some good ideas...

~Have a lovely weekend!

  3. Something so special about pizza. Not sure if you will have it on American Netflix but there is a very funny film set in Wellington New Zealand. It is called 'What We Do In the Shadows'. It is about a group of vampires who house share and the build up to an annual ball they go to. It is very funny, extraordinary characters put in ordinary situations. When my son told me about it I thought, maybe not, but we watched it and enjoyed it.

  5. Oh, no! A lost baking stone! That would seriously bum me out. We're super stoked in that we just bought a new BBQ grill and it is big enough for our pizza stone. We've made pizza on the grill for years, but I think that stone might basically live on the grill this summer. Mmmmmmm.....
