...W.I.P. Wednesday...

...not sure this qualifies as much of a W.I.P. ...it only took a few minutes...
...but I had this necklace...made by Scout when he was still called the Man-Cub...it was just a bunch of little pearly beads strung onto some elastic thread...

...but you can see that it's kinda the worse for wear...
...but...after my success beading my broken barrettes...I thought I could restore it to its former glory...
...so I gathered some tools...
...because I'm going to make my hardware out of steel pins...
...don'tysjustlove my pin cushion...also made by Scout many years ago...it still works perfectly...
...and I just used my needle nosed pliers to shape a straight pin into a hook...
...and loop...
...to close the necklace once it's strung onto the fishing line...
...so then I just cut a piece of filament and started stringing beads...and I poked the filament tail back into the first few beads...that was really the most difficult part of this project because it was tight...so I just did about 5 beads...
...then I just threaded the filament into the beads while they were still on the stretched out elastic thread...so it was super easy and quick because I didn't have to pick up individual beads...
...and then I just cut the elastic thread and pulled it out and all of the beads were on the new filament...
...then I tied on the loop and tucked the tail back into the first 5 beads...again that was difficult...
...but I'm happy that I did...because there's no tail sticking out...
...and a rather goofy photo of me wearing it at the dinner table...I think Scout was tickled that I had refurbished his little necklace...

...what have you refurbished lately?...

~Have a lovely day!
