...Dinner and a Movie...

...dinner was a delicious pot of vegan chili...just thrown together...no recipe really...

...and the movie was HAIR...the old musical...I'd never seen it...not sure why we were talking about it...but the Man said he'd seen it many years ago while we were in college...they used to show (already old) movies in the auditorium on Sunday nights...we often went together so I'm not sure why he saw it and I didn't...probably studying...

...I enjoyed it...the plot was pretty predictable...and it was very, very 70's...I was surprised that the movie was released in 1979 as I thought it was earlier...

...what have you been watching?...

~Have a lovely weekend!

  1. I don't think I've ever seen Hair. Not sure why. I think it was a little before my time and I'd never seen it advertised or showing along the years later.

I haven't been watching much on TV. Just my regularly PVR'd daily Christian program and a some daily talk shows. I use the talk shows (like Dr. Oz) to learn more about the latest in health and so on.

Have you had a chance to check out The Vikings or The Blacklist?

  2. Now I want a chili! This one is so tempting!!!!
You are right; no need for a recipe; just good (right) things "thrown" together!
And I must look at Hair again. I love this musical.
This post will inspire me for the week!

    1. ...we had a lot of fun with the movie...it's been dreary and rainy here...so leftover chili sounds good...

  4. We've both had some nasty cold and cough virus so it has been 'wallpaper' television – mostly reality shows which seem much too peurile when I feel well!

  5. Hair is one of my FAVORITE musicals, though I must say I found the movie a bit disappointing. Of course, I'd seen two theatrical productions before I saw the film and had a hard time with the artistic liberties taken in adapting to the silver screen. Even the different stage productions have had their variations though. Still a very moving story in any event.

The Hair soundtrack is quite literally THE only music on my iPod. The rest is all audiobooks. ;) Matt teases me about this from time to time. I just love it.

It is hard to explain without sounding needlessly mystical, but the first time I saw Hair performed was right after I'd finished Searching for the Sound by Phil Lesh and right before I saw The Dead's tour in 2012. The trifecta was rather life-changing.

Chili was probably the first thing I made from scratch where I threw out the recipe. The variations are endless, easy, and oh so satisfying! Sounds like a stellar date night.
