...Beach Readiness...

...I finished crocheting the Salt Grass Beach Hat...
...and cast about the house for some wire...Katie recommends millinery wire for the brim...which of course I don't have on hand...but in the Man's toolbox...I found this wire...he used it for something on his short wave radio...making a long antenna or something like that...it's kindof too thin for the brim support...so I used two loops and just wound it together...Katie also recommends a fastener...

...this black wire does show through a bit on the brim...so I may go back and do some sort of overcast stitch to hide it a little bit better...

...I'm really pleased with how this hat turned out...and it was completely FREE!...well I know the things I repurposed cost something to begin with...but they probably weren't going to be used again as they were...(the hula skirt for sure - haha)...

...I'll be sure to get a photo of me wearing it AT THE BEACH!...
