...also...Over the Weekend...

...I got up early and did the weekly shopping so I'd be finished well before the shower started...

...adorable little baby eggplanst...and I bought tomatoes before I knew what was coming later...haha...

...I got a super duper deal on dried cranberries...that's right 45¢...crazy right...so I'm thinking cranberry scones are in order...

...and it's pumpkin spice time once again...so I thought I'd try Silk's new flavor...

...the only other thing of note...is this new to us ancient grain...fonio...have you ever heard of it?...

...I turned most of the bag of organic apples into applesauce...

...we just love homemade applesauce...and surprisingly galas make good applesauce...

...see what I mean...I didn't need to buy tomatoes...haha...we received two different batches from our gardening friends...so YAY!...

...so I saved some perfect ones for eating fresh...

...well washed...

...and dunked in simmering water for a few seconds...

...for some reason...it's just so satisfying to slip those skins off...

...the skinned tomatoes filled up my biggest bowl...

...so I smashed them and had just enough to fill three quart jars...just a little scoopful left over...

...cooling on the counter...

...it must have worn Jack out...he took a long nap...oblivious to everything...

...Kitten came for a visit...look how fat she is...she's napping too...still upside down with her feet in the air...it's so fun to have her in the house for a bit...

...Jack got up from his nap on the couch...and went outside and took another one...
