...11.20...Dinner and a Movie...

...so...the Man made Lentil Soup...
...it was perfect...
...meanwhile...I'd seen these little coiled up flatbreads a while ago on YT...sorry I can't find the video now...so I made the dough...just water yeast and flour...
...divided it into little balls...
...rolled it out...into a somewhat circular shape...haha...it doesn't need to be perfectly round...
...super thin though...
...got out some olive oil...
...and brushed that on the sheet of dough...
...then just lifted an edge and started rolling it up...
...into a little snake...I do love playing with dough...don't you?...
...and then just coiled that up...
...it's so cute...
...and it's like playing with Playdough...
...put them on a tray to rise a bit...
...then I thought it'd be good to use some Earth Balance instead of Olive oil...as there are going to be leftovers and I thought EB would be better for dessert rolls or breakfast...
...so I just melted some Earth Balance and brushed that on the tops of a few...
...I put toothpicks in those so I could tell them apart...
...after they've risen a bit...pat them down flat...
...and then cook them on a griddle like you would tortillas or English Muffins...
...so for dinner...we had a big salad...the lentil soup...and the olive oil coiled buns...
...and then a little bit later...we also tried the buttery ones...
...and they needed more Earth Balance too...haha...
...they are quite flakey and pull apart...almost like croissants...delicious with jam too...

...and it was the Man's choice...and he chose to watch a couple of episodes of Changing Rooms......it just popped up in our Amazon feed...by whatever algorithm that happens...and it's a lot like the old Discovery show Trading Spaces...it's set in Australia...so it's fun to hear that accent and look up the different words they use...like...they call a carpenter a "chippie"...so cute...

...there's just a little too much 'drama' either real or fabricated between the 'friends' as they seem to get angry with each other when they have really no voice in what the designers do...we watched two episodes because they split the house up into two episodes...and that's another thing...there would have been commercial breaks when it originally aired...and they spend way too much time recapping what had just happened in the previous 15 minutes or so...and you end up watching most of the show twice...

...what have you been watching lately?...

~Have a lovely weekend!

  1. Really weird, I wrote out a long comment but it’s not showing up. Anyway, we’re watching The Crown. Duane doesn’t appear to like it much but he’s tolerating it for me. Love, K

  2. I find American slang and idioms fascinating, but all the more so with our fellow anglophones. I've got more exposure to the Brits, but the Aussies are pretty dang great, too. One of my college friends lived in New Zealand for many, many years and is a good source of these charming expressions. Language is so cool!

    1. Hi Beth,
...I totally agree...I'm always looking up idioms like that...and it's often a lot of fun...

  3. I love those flatbreads but rarely make them! It's a lot of work. But yeah, it's worth it.
    The soup is mouthwatering!

I'm watching "Maid" on Netflix. I think i'm addicted to this serie!
