...the Man very sweetly fixed an amazing dinner...Tofu Sweet and Sour...while I pretty much sat around doing nothing...I'm feeling a little bit under the weather...just a cold I think...but oddly...this week I ventured out of the house for the first time in a long time...as I had a dentist appointment and a mammogram scheduled...and maybe my immune system hasn't had any practice in a while...so I'm sniffling and drinking hot tea...not that that's something I only do when I'm sick...the tea - I mean...
...the pineapple we had gotten last week was just about perfectly ripe...
...so he peeled and chopped that up...
...sautéed some peppers and onions...
...made a sweet and sour sauce...
...then sautéed the pineapple...
...and put everything together...
...this was such a perfect dinner for me...
...and my turn to choose the movie...and it's Nobody Knows...it was inspired by a real event known in Japan as "the affair of the four abandoned children of Nishi-Sugamo"...and it's a real heartbreak of a movie...maybe that's giving away too much...but I think when a mother abandons her children like that you can expect tragedy...
..and just a funny observation...the main character Akira sports a WV (West Virginia - Blue and Gold) sweatshirt for a good part of the film...
...what have you been watching lately?...

Sorry to hear you've been feeling poorly but it's so great you have a husband who knows how to cook well. The movie sounds interesting. I haven't really been watching much of note lately. Mostly magazine type movies like Dateline or Canadian ones like W5. The most recent Netflix things I've been watching is called Pieces of Her. It is kind of a mystery story with Toni Collette, Aussie, as the lead actress.
ReplyDeleteHi Penny,
Delete...that is so true...our meals would be much less exciting without him...I'll check out the Pieces of Her...that does sound interesting...
