...3.18...W.I.P. Wednesday...

...it's been a really busy week...as I sort of let Easter slip up on me this year...and I for sure wanted the girlies to have a little something from Grandmommy in their Easter baskets...
...but first I was merrily knitting along on Little Sissie's Ballet sweater...I finished the right front...
...and the left front - left leaning stitches lay neatly on their own...
...so no special trick was needed to make a pretty border......
...so I'm really happy with that...
...left and right front pieces finished...
...they'll cross over each other like this...
...and there will be a tie on the inside that you won't be able to see and then one on the outside that you will be able to see...
...then I knit the back...except for the moss stitch border at the bottom and the neckline... this was a pretty mindless knit all in stockinette stitch...fun to do in the evenings while watching TV...
...and then for a quick and fun little Easter present for the grandbabes...I chose Drops Flapping Around...a cute slipper pattern...and I made all the eyes first...haha...
...and got out my gold and red yarn from stash...and started crocheting the slippers...
...both toes done...and since my gold yarn is limited I divided it into two small balls...hoping to get the 'face' portion done in this colour...
...one done...
...and another one...
...these are big sissie's slippers...you can see the second colour of gold on the soles...
...and a third colour of gold as I had to get more gold yarn...
...and because my LYS is now Stuff-Mart...I had one choice for gold yarn...
...then I added the picot edging...
...it makes a cute ruffly border...
...and then I made another slightly smaller pair for Little Sissie and added the eyes, nose, and eyelashes...and I got some cabinet liner for a non-slip grip on the bottoms and some felt for a soft liner inside...
...I cut out the liners...
...and flipped the slippers inside out to stitch them in place...
...and then I wrapped them and flattend them as much as I could and stuffed them into a mailing envelope and I made a little sleeve like they have at the post office...if a large envelope will pass through the 3/4 inch slot the package can go as a 'large envelope' for a cheaper price...if not it's a 'package'...and costs a lot more...

...so now the 'package' is winging its way to Alaska...sadly, it did not slip through the slot...
...and now...back to the Ballet Kimono...I started the sleeves of the Ballet Kimono...
...two at a time and simple stockinette...they were a pretty quick knit...
...stitched those up...
...and assembled the sweater...I love it...it turned out perfectly...
...for the outside (visible) tie...I'm going to use the pretty purple ribbon from the tutu...
...and I just made two crochet chains for the inside tie that you won't really see...
...it was easy enough to pull the ou the elastic that the ribbon is stitched to...and just snip it off...
...and stitch it onto the kimono...it's so cute and it will make the kimono 'match' the tutu...

...what's in your workbasket this week?...

~Have a lovely day!
