...and since I'm still working my way through the 100 books meme from years ago...this week I re-read George Orwell's Animal Farm...it was short and quick...and though I remembered it from my original 9th grade reading...it certainly is still relevant today (maybe more so) as a warning against authoritarianism, corruption of power, and the manipulation of truth...especially how leaders can exploit followers through propaganda...
...I've got a hold on 1984 at the library for another re-read...but in the meantime I'm reading a trilogy that I've never read before... His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman...I've finished The Golden Compass (aka Northern Lights)...and I've just started The Subtle Knife...
...I enjoyed The Golden Compass (book)...so...of course that was the movie of the week...haha...
...and I also enjoyed the movie...for what it was...it's really quite different from the book...espcially the ending...
