...fail to prepare...prepare to fail...

...that was one of our North Dakota Scoutmaster's favorite sayings...

...and of course the Scout motto is "BE PREPARED"

...so with Hurricane Irma roaring up the east coast...we've been getting prepared...these water jugs haven't seen the light of day since the big chemical spill water crisis in WV back in 2014...

...we've got gas for the generator...batteries for the lanterns...cots and sleeping bags at the ready in the basement...in case we wind up having to seek shelter there...closer to the event...we'll get out some candles and matches...and fill the bathtub and any available buckets with water (for flushing)...hoping all the time that the storm will track somewhere else...like...back out to sea...
