...Friday Favorites...Homemade Potato Chips and Dip...

...when I was little it was such a treat to have potato chips and dip...usually we only had this at parties and when we had company...but it's so nostalgic...I remember Mom's potato chip server with the little wire holder for the dip...
…...like this one...Mom probably still has it...photo source...
...I got out our -not-very-oft-used-mandoline...and sliced some potato really
...spread it out in a single layer on parchment...
...and baked until crispy and golden...
...whipped up a quick Vegan French onion dip...'recipe' here is just a guideline...as I just sort of threw it together...but I'm pretty sure the ingredient quantities are about right...

1 cup vegan probiotic yogurt drained until about the consistency of sour cream...or you could just use store-bought (or boughten) vegan sour cream...
1 vegan beef bouillon cube - our Food Lion store brand ones are vegan...but you could use a Washington's packet or Orrington...probably a teaspoon...
...about a tablespoon of dehydrated onion...
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic granules
...and dug in...it was a delicious snack...

...what was your favorite snack when you were little?...

  4. We call them crisps and cooked like that very healthy. Dip, tinned cream and onion soup mix, mixed and left to stand, yummy! Now it would be cashew cream.

    1. Hi Maureen,
...sounds yummy...I use my drained yogurt instead of cashew cream...but that would be really creamy and delicious...
