...Dinner and a Movie...

...the newlyweds joined us for dinner...so we had a big spaghetti feast...
...the Man spent all day making the sauce (as usual)...and it was delicious...

...the movie was Lion...another recommendation of Éphée from L'éphémère quotidienneté des repas et autres trucs de magie

...it was really a sweet movie...a little bit predictable...but like The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind...it was based on a true story...and as usual my favorite part of the movie was the ending where they showed the actual photos of the real people and retold that story...

...the Man didn't love it...he hated Slumdog Millionaire...which he says I 'made' him watch...and Chai Boy too (an old MTV movie that we watched years ago...I can't even find a link to it now)...this looks like an old trailer for it...

...what have you been watching lately?...

~Have a lovely weekend!

  1. so nice you can have the newly weds over for dinner. I saw Lion when it first came out and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Though it was sad it had a happy ending which is rare these days. I can't say I really watched Slumdog Millionaire as I only watched it in bits and pieces on TV. I enjoyed what I did see. I've been watching the new series called "Hanna" on Prime Video. I quite like it.

  2. I too hated Lion. Although there was the happy ending I just couldn't get out of my mind the children stolen from the streets and the children in the 'home' whose lives were so desperate and hopeless. It left me sad for many days, those children would not leave me.
