...we had a really...really laid back celebration with just the two of us...
...well...three if you count Jack...
...the Man made a fire in the BBQ grill...using some of the hickory wood that we had gotten for the fireplace...
...and we had typical July 4th cookout fare...BBQ tofu, vegan baked beans and potato salad...
...I made a batch of Muddy Buddies for dessert...bacically rice/corn chex coated with peanut butter/chocolate and then dusted with powdered sugar...it's a sweet and fun finger food...and I hadn't made it since Our Airman was a little guy in North Dakota...
...then the Man and I sat outside and watched the neighbor's fireworks...
...it was a steamy night...but they put on quite a show...and it was a lot of fun...
...how did you spend the 4th?...
~Have a lovely day!

We spent the 4th of July working on the deck, then the boys came over for a cookout. Pretty laid back - it rained - no fireworks....Love, K
ReplyDeleteI went to a workshop provided by Speedball, an internationally known printer called Sean Starwars - an American who lives in Mississippi. We all wished him Happy 4th of July, the workshop was a lot of fun as he told us all about his artistic journey.
ReplyDeleteHi Maureen,
DeleteI googled Sean Starwars...how very interesting...

Boy. I haven't thought of muddy buddies in forever--and grew up calling it Puppy Chow, incidentally. I love variations like that. We had BBQ tofu, too. We put in a sprinkle of Chinese 5-Spice Powder that really made it extra awesome. Happy belated Independence Day!
