...W.I.P. Wednesday...

...I've finished the first sock...except for the kitchener-ing...and I like the way the staggered stripes turned out...but I actually had a little bit more of the purple yarn than I thought as I wasn't really planning on any stripes on the toe...but I still like it...

...but now I'm thinking of doing a sort of 'fraternal sock' thing on the second sock...I'm just going to knit until I run out of purple completely and then switch to the coffee...I've always kind of liked mismatched socks...and you'll only ever see it if I take my shoes off anyway...

...what about you?...do you like fraternal socks?...
...remember last year...when I crocheted a strap on these end-of-season $1 mule flats...well...it had gotten too stretched out and the strap slipped off my heel...so...initially I thought I'd undo the last couple of rows just to tighten them up...but then Sunday morning when I wanted to wear them to Church...I didn't have time for that project...but I had a better idea for tightening the strap...
...I just used my new heavy duty sewing machine to stitch a strip of elastic onto the crocheted strap...and now they fit snugly...so happy...
...and then in my mending pile was this pair of capris...I've actually had them since we lived in North Dakota...and I wore them as they were...but they were always too big...the waistline rested on my hips...which of course made a baggy behind and crotch area...

...so I just used my new sewing machine again to take a couple of darts....
...just centered over each pocket...and the sewing machine easily sews through all those layers...I love it...

...what's in your workbasket?...

~Have a lovely day!

  1. Sometimes it's the little things! My workbasket it knitting, I've sewed lots of fitted cot sheets which are packed and ready.

The babies arrived yesterday, Rosaly is fine but Ernest has had to be transferred to a specialist unit. My son cannot praise the unit highly enough, excellent. The baby was transferred by ambulance at 2.30 am and my son said the care they gave to his son was wonderful. This has been a troubled pregnancy since week 26 but we have been assured that all will be well. However......
