...10.9...Friday Update...

...unfortunately we've had to replace the dinette shade...it was a pleated shade with an internal mechanism...and the chord on the inside broke and I could not find any way to repair and re-attach it...of course I tried...

...and it's especially disheartening because those shades were only installed a little over 2 years ago...(of course there was a post about it...haha)
...I installed the new brackets for a more old-timey roller shade for the dinette window...and patched the holes where I'd removed the old brackets...
...and then because they need to 'match'...and I'm concerned about the longevity of the pleated shade...I'm also replacing the one over the kitchen sink...
...the same patching is required...
...and here's the new roller shade in the kitchen...
...and in the dinette...

...have you ever been disappointed with the longevity of an item like this?...
...here's something I'm not disappointed with...the number of blooms on my squash plants...haha...
...and we have baby turnip greens growing on the back porch...
...and we're still harvesting quite a few rattlesnake beans, squash and cucumbers...which I always think of as "free food"...even though I know that it does actually cost something...seeds, water and time...but still...

~Have a lovely day!
