Christmas Luminaries

These are the recycled tin can luminaries the Man-Cub made at the Pack meeting - very pretty...

    very cool re-use of tin cans! down here they have banned paper bag luminaries because of the fire hazard (it's still ultra-dry here).

    I like those luminaries. I may try to make some. Ice in the cans to keep them from crushing when punctured?? then painted?? and decorated?? E

    Hey Mom,

    Yep - we filled the cans with water and set them outside overnight and they froze solid - then a parent held them still while the Cub's hammered a nail on a stencil. You could make a bunch of different shapes - the Man-Cub only did stars. We like them a lot...
