Just a few hours ago...

...we were bundled up standing on the deck watching for shooting stars (it was 14 below zero)...

...We had not let Scout stay up (or get back up) for the Leonid Meteor Shower a few weeks ago - because it wasn't supposed to be very spectular until about 3 o'clock in the morning - but last night was the Geminid Meteor Shower and it was supposed to peak around 11:00 CST - so we let him stay up a couple of hours past his bedtime - we saw several falling stars - and a few that were pretty spectular - so we're all sleepy headed this morning...

  1. brrr that makes me cold just looking at it. glad you got to see some good ones. we've got a little too much light shining from Pittsboro, believe it or not! the shimmer from the streetlights (what - 3 miles away) lights up the sky to our north/east. just when you think you're out in the country!!

    stay warm, love, k

  4. Looks like a nice winter scene, topped off and made more spectacular by meteor showers. Nice!

  5. We saw some shooting stars as well. However, we were able to see them through the living room window!

    Much warmer!

I think is a great reason for staying up past your bedtime :)

We've got to drag out Owen's telescope soon and begin some star watching ourselves.

  7. Sounds like braving the cold and waking up a little sleepy was worth it.
