...Topsail Island...Day Seven...

...Our last day on the island broke clear and windy...very windy...and the surf was definitely up...
...that didn't deter Scout at all...in fact it may have made it more fun...
...he was out there battling the waves all morning...I think the waves won in the end...
...it was perfect weather for this wind/sail/surf guy though...
...we had a couple of undone items on the agenda for today...
...we wanted to drive to the ends of the island...it's not far...we passed these unusual windswept trees on the way...
...and we wanted to go out on the pier we had walked to for so many days...it costs $1...
...and they stamp your hand...
...our shadows from the pier...
...the beach from the pier...
...Scout still loves the telescopes...we were all wishing the Navy boats were still out there...but they were not...
...the windy surf...
...looking back to our little house...it's the third one in the very last set of houses...very tiny in this photo...
...the flag at the end of the pier...whipped by the wind...
...a jelly-fish...we actually saw three there right together...sometimes you see them washed ashore...but we did not on this trip...
...back down under the pier...
...donchyaluv the structure underneath...
...Scout practices his ninja moves jumping from one foot to another on a post...a skill he learned in Tae Kwon Do...
...back at the house we sit on the deck and watch the final moonrise...we'd been watching the moon wax all week...
...and the corresponding final sunset on the soundside...
...and a final walk on the beach after dark...

...it was such a nice vacation...

~Have a lovely day!

  3. Looks like my kind of place with the wide sandy beaches and winds.
