...I already mentioned that...
...we celebrated Scout's Birthday with a few presents...
...and cake...
...opening the gifts is always fun...
….then Saturday morning we had our first community meal in the newly renovated Parish Hall...a Country Breakfast...
...the Man and the Church Council met at the Parish Hall at 5 AM to start cooking...
...I came over about 8...and had a nice vegan breakfast of grits and toast...and coffee...it was fun-food-fellowship at its finest...
...then I was invited by one of our local farmers to come over and pick blueberries...
...so many blueberries...
...it made picking them fast work...
...and in no time at all...I had picked 2 quarts...
...and then Sunday was Father's Day...
...Scout and I thought it was funny that our cards were kinda colour-coordinated...
...we started the morning with 'Nanny's Strawberry Cake' which I have veganized and made into muffins (really just the cake with no icing)...
...after Church...the Man opened some small gifts...
...and another of our parishioner/farmers gave us some cucumbers and zucchini from their garden...so we used some of them in our Father's Day Feast...
...prepping Kabobs...(or kabubbas...as we like to call them)...peppers and onions...
...pineapple and Teriyaki marinated tofu...
...sautéed fresh spinach...
...and dinner was served...we had a nice day celebrating...and hope you did too!
~Wishing you a lovely start to your week!
