...I finished the second of the Sonora Cacti Socks...
...and I must say that I'm pretty happy with them...
...they fit well now...with the addition of a few more stitches...
...and I'm also pretty glad that I had to frog and redo while I'm pretty much just staying at home...
...because I think I might have abandoned the project if I'd had easy access to other yarns...etc...
...so I took some artsy photos...copying the ones from the pattern...haha...I'll post them to my Ravelry notebook too...
...and...for a new (old) project...
...way back in July of 2008...I finished the Bamboozled anklets...
...and they were always a little bit loose and baggy...and they got worse during the wearing...they'd feel pretty good when you put them on freshly washed and sized...and then as the day went on...you'd be sliding around in them...sooooo...
...I decided this time of no-yarn-buying...would be a good time to FROG...rip-it...haha...
...and turn this fancy hand-dyed yarn into something I'd actually wear...so I cast on (mid-sock) with a provisional cast-on...and just started knitting my favorite sock pattern...
...and the yarn was so very kinky when I unraveled it...
...it reminded me of Charlotte...the rag doll made my Caroline Ingalls for her daughter Laura (Little House on the Prairie)...and she used yarn that she had knit and then unraveled so that the doll's hair would be curly...
...not sure why I remember that tidbit of information...but I do love it when things like that from my childhood pop into my mind...I read those books when I was in fourth grade...and it was maybe a little bit after I had learned my very first knit stitches...so maybe that's why...
...not a lot done yet...but I've got a week before I need to start the next Porch Pillow Project...
...just now turning the heel...princess soled ...of course...
...what's in your workbasket?...
~Have a lovely day!
