...make your own Vegan Chocolate Death Star...

...a second Valentine's Day related post...
...Scout wanted to give his Valentine a Death Star...they are both avid Star Wars fans...but it does seem like a strange Valentine's gift...but maybe since he's going to make it of chocolate it's OK...

...he melted some vegan chocolate chips...
...and covered his Magic 8 Ball with plastic to use a form for the chocolate...
...and poured over the molten chocolate...
...just until it reached the halfway mark...he's going to make two halves and then melt them together...
...this is the top half ready to be unmolded...
...there was already a seam in the center the Magic 8 Ball...to use as a guide...
...then to build up the thickness of the chocolate for the Death ray's focusing disk indentation (not really sure what to call that)...he added more chocolate to the inside...
...then he turned over the 8 ball and covered it and poured over the chocolate...
...and molded the bottom half...
...it has a flat place so it will stand on it's own...
...then he melted the seams on both halves and put them together...
...he dipped a spoon into hot water and melted that focusing ray disc area...divot...thingy...
...got some skewers hot in a tall cup of hot water...
...and used them to melt the chocolate to make the exterior design of the Death Star...
...and apparently he knows the design by heart...because he didn't even have a reference...
...wrapped it up...
...and used the leftover chocolate to make some freeform hearts...

...she absolutely loved it and pronounced it the most original Valentine's gift ever...

~Have a lovely day!
