...1.19...W.I.P. Wednesday...

...it's still quite chilly and snowy here...
...I love to watch the shadows play across the snow...so pretty...
...and...I rode my bike after missing a couple of days...they scraped the roads and it's pretty clear...a few icy patches...but easily avoided...just have to bundle up well...

...now...the Birthday Girl...the Airman's Wife...has opened her birthday pressie...and you've only seen the very beginning of that project...
...and you probably couldn't even guess that it was a pillow...but here it is...

...I had seen a pillow like this somewhere...pretty vague I know but I couldn't find the exact one that I was thinking of...I found several sorts of eyelash pillows...but not exactlly what I was looking for...
...so I did a quick sketch and made a pattern...
...and started knitting...
...I keep my place by moving post-it notes up a row at a time...
...finished with the colourwork...
...the rest is just plain stockinette stitch...
...and I knit the back...also just plain stockinette stitch...but you've already seen that piece...haha...
...stitched three sides together...
...leaving one end open for stuffing...
...and then because I've had issues with the stuffing poking through the knit stitches...I sewed a little cover for the stuffing...
...stuffed the little inside pillow...
...popped that inside the knit pillow and stitched up the end...

...and by all accounts she loves it...and so does Big Sissie...Our Airman says she keeps touching the eyelashes and saying 'eyes'...so cute...
...and I've started another little project that I can't show you...also destined for Japan...

...this was sort of a last minute idea...and this may even be showing 'too much' haha...

....progress also continues on the cross-stitch...but I can't show you that yet...
...a little bit of progress on the dish towel...

...what's in your workbasket this week?...

~Have a lovely day!

  2. Love that pillow!!! You've been a busy knitter! I cast on a project tonight, but won't likely get any decent work done on it until Friday- but that's fine, it's there waiting for me, ready to go! :)

  3. I love the dishtowel. It never occurred to me that you could knit a dishtowel! I'm trying to learn to crochet and now I'm wondering if a dishtowel can be crocheted.

    1. Hi Danielle,
...and thanks for stopping by Affectioknit...I'm sure you can crochet a dishtowel...this is a link to the Purl Soho site...and it's a dish'cloth' but I'm sure you could just make it towel sized if you wanted...and it looks a lot like the one I'm knitting... https://www.purlsoho.com/create/2012/04/13/whits-knits-mothers-day-washcloths/ ...good luck with your crochet...

    1. Hi Éphée,
Thanks...I remember when we lived in North Dakota...and people "down south" would complain about the cold...and we'd just laugh and laugh...haha...
