...1.15...Over the Weekend...

...after some serious rain and storms...we had a lovely rainbow...

...and we put up our two birdhouses and our bat house...

...this one has moved with us multiple times...in North Dakota we put it on one of the big power line posts out in the field behind the house...

...and this is Our Airman as a Bear Cub making that very same bird house...of course you can read all about it here...aren't blogs wonderful...that was from 2007...

...we never did paint it...and I like it natural like this better anway...but I thought the roof was looking a little bit rough...so I thought I'd shingle it...and I repurposed a plastic jug...

...just cut some overlapping shingles from the jug and stapled them in place...hopefully it will keep the little birdies nice and dry now...

...and while we were at it...we climbed up and cleaned out the gutters...but we needn't have bothered as they were clear...haha...

...and we put up the post that held our bird feeders and wind chimes at the parsonage...Mom sent us the little bell shaped seed feeder...and it's going to get pretty later this week...

...now for the bad news...(not really)

...y'all may have noticed in the post about the under the sink liner that the underneath of the dishwasher was visible...well...that's because it sprung a leak...I just tucked a ShamWow under there and continued using it...for one thing we were having a hard time figuring out where it was leaking as everything we checked wasn't leaking...

...also I told y'all about the odd state of things in this house...it's 20 years old...and some things were pristine and new looking...the microwave and the oven looked like they had never been used and still had the packing material inside...and this dishwasher also looked like it had never been used...but the white plastic bits had yellowed over time and the rather extreme temperature variations in the basically vacant house...

...so we finally gave up trying to figure out the leak...and ordered a new one...

...as it turned out it was actually leaking from the top...there's a hose and sprayer under the insulation mat...which was soaked when we pulled it out...so the 'leak' that we could see underneath was actually just water dripping off the mat from the top...so weird...

...anywhoo...the Man made short work of wiring up and installing the new one...of course...

...then yesterday...we joined our new Church...it will be 'interesting' to be just regular parishoners...and actually sit together...haha...

...after Church...I made bread in my lovely new bread machine...

...it's the veganized Buttermilk Whole Wheat...

...it's so perfect...I've posted the recipe before...it's from my old bread machine cookbook...

...and then...as I'm sitting here typing there are THREE female bluebirds checking out the birdhouses...one mature on the birdhouse and two immature ones on the fence...I guess they'll start nesting soon...
