...1.2...Delicious Vegan Food we ate...

...in the drizzly rain...I wanted to thin out the turnips in our winter garden...so that they can make actual turnip roots...
...so I just pulled up a lot of turnips for us to eat on New Year's Day...
...and left quite a few plants to mature...
...but I pretty quickly realized that I should have snipped the turnip greens off at the root...as they were SO SO DIRTY with all of the roots attached...
...I washed...
...and washed...
...and washed...a total of FIVE times...there were just so many 'floaty' bits...not like the sand that might cling to the leaves and then sink to the bottom...
...oh well...then they all went into the pot and out onto the porch as I didn't really want my house to smell like turnip greens...haha...
...and I'm still struggling a bit with the new camera...
...it seems to be a lot more sensitive to motion than my old one...
...and sometimes instead of getting better they get worse...I've taken at least two of every photo so far...haha...
...but I'm getting better...and eventually I always succeed...these are the delicious and very tender little baby turnip greens...I didn't get any grit in mine...haha...
...and the rest of our New Year's meal...blackeyed peas and cornbread...delciious of course...

~Have a lovely day!
