Happy New Year...but I still have a bit of Christmas making backlog to show you...
...these are the beginnings of the little Christmas ornament party favors that I gave out at our family Christmas party a couple of weeks ago...
...no real pattern...just a crocheted triangle...starting with Ch 2 then you do 2 sc in the first ch, ch 1 and turn...then 1 sc, inc, ch 1 and turn...then 2 sc, inc, ch 1 and turn...so you just keep increasing one stitch on each row - 3 sc, inc, ch 1 and turn....you get the idea...I increased 14 times...
...then I really debated about the trunk colour...dark brown...light brown...fuzzy brown...twine...and finally decided on this khaki colour...
...you just pick up the center four stitches on the bottom of the tree...and do two rows of single crochet...
...then I got out some little wooden balls (from stash...I think they'd been there since Our Airman's Multi-Dryer Eco 3000 project of 2009...so funny...I still have and use that thing...
...anywhooo...then I got out the jute that I thought about using for the trunk...but for the hanger...and I couldn't fit it through the hole in the wooden bead...so I just used a needle and thread the same way you'd use an actual needle threader to pull the twine through the hole...
...then I used a crochet hook to pull the twine through the top of the tree...
...and then the needle and thread to pull the twine back through the wooden bead...
...then I also looped the thread around the little white tail...
...and pulled that up through the bead to hide it...and cut it off under a little bit of tension so that it would spring back down into the bead and stay hidden...
...and then just did an overhand loop knot at the top...
...times twelve...
...I wanted to make sure that I had one for each family...
...I think they turned out super cute...
...I put one on our little tree...
...I also shipped one to Alaska...
...and then filled my little gold leaf Peace tray with the ornaments for the party...
...what's in your workbasket this week?...
~Have a lovely day!
