The PTO Book Exchange

Every year the PTO at the Man-Cub's school (of course I'm a member and one of the workers) sponsors a Book Exchange. Each child brings a gently used book from home and we gather all those together and put them out on tables and then each child gets to choose a new book of their very own to keep. This year the Man-Cub chose a book about a Jack Russell Terrier Detective...

...and these lovelies were left over - destined to be boxed up and donated - Unh-uh - I snatched them right up...

...the two matching books are compilations of stories for children and the Blackbird in the Lilac is a book of children's poems...

I just love the '60s illustrations in these books...

This is from one of the Burgess Bedtime stories - we've read every single one in the series already - but it's neat to see them again here...

...and this illustration is from 'The Picnic Basket'...
