'shrooms

I knew we'd eventually get some 'shrooms if we were patient long enough...

...apparently about 3 months is long enough...

...these are the Namekos - but the shitakes are budding as well - YAY!

  1. That's so cool! I've always wanted to get one of those. Although here in France it isn't uncommon to pick wild mushrooms so I need to find someone to teach me what is edible and what isn't!

    What are you going to make with them?

  2. Hi Sarah,

    We've not ever eaten just plain Namekos before. They are often in Miso soup - so that will probably be my first try at using them - and simple as well. They're supposed to be good in stir fry and their 'sliminess' is supposed to complement the 'roughness' of okara - and since I have a lot of okara from my soy milk maker - I'll probably try a soup with that as well.
