...9.14...Over the Weekend...

...we headed out of town on a dreary-foggy-rainy morning...

...thankfully there was very little traffic...

...and when the mountains should have started to come into sight...they were obscured...

...but by the time we actually got into the hills the skies had cleared...

...and finally we were driving down the familiar driveway...

...so here's the still verdant Mills Knob...

...and mom had decided to remove her defunct pumphouse...definitely a relic from my childhood...

...she took us on a little tour around the yard to see all the small changes she's been making...this is an iris bed with some statuary that she painted...

...and a little poolside shelf with painted/decorated watering cans...very cute...

...some more flower beds with the turtles that I had painted a few years ago...(2022 apparently)...and they've held up surprisingly well in the weather...

...and all of her garden beds...look at that okra...it's as tall as the house...and she's still pulling it down and cutting fresh okra from it...so I'm looking forward to having some delicious fried okra while I'm here...

...and of course we got started on the project of the week...we're repainting Mom's Dining Room for her birthday...more to come...
